Family Photography Preparation - FAQ's

Here are some frequently asked questions that will help you to understand what to expect from your family photo session. Our primary aim is to make it as comfortable and relaxed as possible and to dedicate enough time for your family to capture some priceless memories.

In our studio, we can accommodate families with up to 4 adults + 4 children (and a dog!) It is a fairly small space and we would all get very cosy!  On location, we can include extended family too. It’s best to contact us to discuss your requirements first

Before your session, we will provide a style guide with some suggestions and colour schemes. We will also advise you on what to avoid.  We also have a Pinterest board with some ideas and inspiration.

We will travel anywhere in Hertfordshire for a location shoot. We have a few venues we can suggest but we are open to your suggestions too. We will travel anywhere outside of Hertfordshire but there would be travel costs factored into your final payment.

Not many people love having their photos taken, us included. With this in mind, we aim to build a rapport with you and to try and put you at ease. We send a preparation guide before every type of shoot so you are not wondering what to expect or how to prepare.

Sara is an Early Years teacher with 27 years of experience. There isn’t much she hasn’t seen when it comes to children not wanting to cooperate. She has a few tricks up her sleeve but also knows that building trust is an important aspect. For most of our shoots, we only invite one family per day. That means if things take a bit longer that’s ok.

We charge a booking fee of £95 for all shoots and this amount is deducted from the final amount after your artwork purchase.  Prices start from £495. We send a price list on request with descriptions of all of the beautiful art products we have available.

Yes! At various times of the year, we offer family mini portrait sessions. These sessions tend to be shorter and have a package built around them. We normally announce these to our mailing list first before posting them on our website and socials.
